This policy explains what AudiobookStories.com collects, why, who else is involved, and what you can do about it. It is written to be understood rather than to be legally impressive.

Who we are
AudiobookStories.com (“the site”, “we”, “us”) is an independent website about audiobooks and audiobook subscriptions, owned and operated by Kazi Al Imran. The data controller for the purposes of this policy is the site owner, contactable at [email protected].
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email correspondence. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We keep it only as long as needed to deal with your message and any follow-up.
- Comments. If commenting is enabled on an article and you leave one, WordPress stores the name, email address and website you provide, along with your IP address and browser user agent string. This is standard WordPress behaviour and helps with spam detection. Comment data is retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every request: IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request. This is used for security and diagnosing faults.
- Analytics. We use web analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive at them, in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individuals.
- Cookies. See the section below.
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not ask for or store payment details — there is nothing to buy on this site. We do not run a newsletter or maintain a mailing list. The free tools at audiobookstories.com/tools run entirely inside your browser: what you type into a calculator or a quiz is never transmitted to us, never stored, and is gone when you close the tab.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. This site may use:
- Necessary cookies — set by WordPress for basic functions such as remembering that you left a comment, or keeping you logged in if you have an account here.
- Analytics cookies — used to count visits and understand which content is useful, in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies — set by advertising partners, described in the next section.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking them entirely or deleting existing ones. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading anything here, though some conveniences may stop working.
Advertising and third parties
Google and its partners
This site may display advertising served by Google and by other third-party vendors.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
- Google’s own handling of data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms page.
Affiliate programmes
This site takes part in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate programmes. When you follow an affiliate link from here to Amazon or Audible, those companies may set cookies of their own in order to attribute any resulting purchase. Their handling of your data is governed by their privacy policies, not by this one. The full commercial disclosure is on our disclaimer page.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded content such as videos or images from other sites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content.
Fonts
This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Doing so involves a request from your browser to Google’s servers, which receives your IP address as part of any ordinary web request.
How we use what we collect
We use the information described above only to:
- deliver the site and keep it working;
- reply to messages you send us;
- understand in aggregate which articles are useful, so that the site gets better;
- detect and prevent spam and abuse;
- meet legal obligations where they apply.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers described in this policy (hosting, analytics, advertising and affiliate partners) or where required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of anything inaccurate;
- request deletion of your data, including any comments you have left;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- opt out of personalised advertising, using the links above;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in California
Under the CCPA you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA.
If you are in the EU or UK
Under the GDPR our lawful bases for processing are: your consent (for advertising and analytics cookies), our legitimate interests (site security, spam prevention, aggregate analytics), and legal obligation where one applies. You may withdraw consent at any time through your browser or cookie settings.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.
Data retention
- Email correspondence: kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period after.
- Comments and their metadata: kept indefinitely unless deletion is requested.
- Server logs: kept for a short period by the hosting provider, then rotated out.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregate according to the analytics provider’s own retention settings.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to it is protected by ordinary account security. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not; what we can say is that there is very little personal data here to lose, because very little is collected.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the page rather than made quietly.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about anything the site does with data, go to [email protected], or through the contact page.
